Meeting you during jewellery consultations is one of our favourite things to do at Wild Fawn. Whether you want to try on the engagement or wedding rings you see on our website or design something of your own, we’re always excited to welcome you into our workshop for a personal consultation. If you are thinking of booking a consultation with us but are wondering what happens during it, you’re in the right place. Read on to discover what types of consultations we offer and what happens when you visit us, so you can confidently book in knowing exactly what to expect.

Types of Jewellery Consultations We Offer

We offer different types of jewellery consultation; engagement ring, wedding ring and bespoke. More often than not, these types merge into each other - for example, an engagement ring consultation could also be for a bespoke ring, whether that’s designing from scratch or customising our samples to make it extra special and to your liking - and the same goes for wedding rings. Engagement Ring Consultation - an opportunity to visit us to take a look at our engagement rings in person and try some on. It can be difficult to know what type of ring will suit you or your partner through a screen, so we love welcoming you into our workshop to show you our beautiful rings in person. You can visit alone if the proposal is a surprise, or attend with your partner if you’d like to pick out a ring together - the choice is yours!
Wedding Ring Consultation - a magical time of wedding planning is choosing your wedding bands. Book a wedding ring consultation with your fiancé to come and try on our collection, or chat to us about designing your own. We specialise in designing bespoke wedding rings to fit perfectly with your engagement ring, especially if it's unusually shaped. Bespoke Jewellery Consultation - our bespoke jewellery service goes beyond engagement and wedding rings. If you have an idea in mind for a bespoke necklace, ring, pair of earrings or bracelet, book a bespoke consultation and we can help create your dream piece of jewellery! We can also re-work heirloom gold; whether it's reworking your grandmother's engagement ring or making a pendant necklace with gold from your father's wedding ring, a handmade personal custom design can breathe new life into heirlooms.

The Booking Process

To book a consultation with us, simply visit our Jewellery Consultation page and select a time and date that suits you. There will be a few questions to answer as you book, so you can let us know what type of jewellery you’d like to chat to us about. At this stage you can also opt for a virtual consultation if you’re not local, or getting to our workshop in Bermondsey, South London isn’t convenient.

What to Expect at a Jewellery Consultation at Wild Fawn Jewellery

A warm welcome into our creative world

When you visit us for an in-person consultation, you’ll be stepping into the creative atmosphere of our workshop, where we make all of our sustainable jewellery. Expect a warm welcome, a comfortable setting and a relaxing ambience (we love candles and incense at Wild Fawn!) as we help you make the perfect choice. Our consultation area is in a cosy corner of our workshop next to a south-facing window, so there’ll be lots of beautiful natural light to help you see the diamonds and gemstones in our samples sparkle. We also have lamps to help illuminate the jewels if it’s a particularly cloudy or grey day, which is unfortunately a common occurrence in London!

Expert, unique-to-you advice

Depending on the nature of your consultation, our founder, Emma, or one of our goldsmiths will sit down with you to help you choose or design your piece of jewellery, which will be ethically made to order in the same room in the days or weeks that follow! If you need to double check your ring size, we can also do this for you to ensure a comfortable fit.

What to Expect at an Engagement Ring Consultation

During your 45-minute engagement ring consultation, you’ll have the opportunity to discover our collection of engagement rings and try them on. We can offer advice on style, stone, metal choice and size so you can confidently choose the perfect ring for this special moment in your relationship. You might like one of our engagement rings but think your partner would prefer a slightly different shade of ethically sourced green sapphire, or a slightly larger lab-grown diamond - we can work with you on a bespoke design to ensure your engagement ring is exactly what you’d like.

What to Expect at a Wedding Ring Consultation

A wedding ring consultation is similar to an engagement ring consultation, in that you can try on our rings to find the perfect one. We have a beautiful collection of sustainable wedding bands for him, her and everyone, from classic round solid gold rings to curved or diamond-encrusted designs. If you are looking for a bespoke wedding ring, your consultation will be a collaborative design discussion. We can even scan your engagement ring using our 3D printer to create a wedding ring that flawlessly fits beneath it for the perfect pairing.

What to Expect at a Bespoke Jewellery Consultation

For bespoke consultations (engagement and wedding or otherwise), your experience will be unique to you, depending on the nature of your bespoke piece. If you have a piece of heirloom jewellery you’d like to incorporate into your new bespoke piece, make sure you bring it with you so we can discuss how it can be used to bring your idea to life.

Following a bespoke consultation, you will receive a 3D-rendered version of your design to ensure you have a clear idea of how it will look once we’ve made it.
