While compiling the list of resolutions for our 50 Eco-Friendly New Years Resolutions we discovered we had made some conscious decisions and intentions for 2021 which were both personal and probably universal, so we thought we would share them with you.

Being the founder of a business can certainly be challenging but also incredibly rewarding. Over the past two years, the team has grown and it’s so exciting to know that in 2021, we will be welcoming more lovely people into our team as we expand and really focus on how we can spread the word about ethical, long lasting jewellery choices. After the last year, with Covid, it makes me so happy to be able to offer jobs, especially through the Kickstart scheme which means we employ people who are currently on Universal Credit and at risk of long-term unemployment. It’s my personal mission to grow Wild Fawn in the most organic, sustainable way whilst not sacrificing any of our beliefs or values.
When it comes to me personally, I decided to sign up to the Marrakech marathon in September after my girlfriend’s mum (who ran it last January) described it as ‘magical, the way the Sun rises from behind the mountains as you run’. I’ve managed to convince a few friends to take part too so it will be a little holiday at the same time! The most training I have done so far is download Strava and run for the train, so it’s going to be a challenge…

I manage the social media channels for Wild Fawn and for the first time ever i took a few days offline over Christmas, at first i felt anxious about it (eye roll, I know) but it was also utterly freeing. I want to make a conscious effort to unplug more often and allow myself to get out of the habit of scrolling and into the mindset where I reach for my paints or my sewing machine, not my phone. Wish me luck!
Just before Christmas I got engaged (I proposed and he accepted!) so I want to spend 2021 hoping by next year we can have gatherings in a safer way and planning a green wedding. DIY flowers, decorations, only using small businesses and I even want to sew my own dress! Being Irish and living in London I will most likely have two small ceremonies so I want to create things which will not be used only for one day but can be recycled over and over again and I can keep forever.

This year I’m going to focus on personal growth by firstly enriching my experiences in my work at Wild Fawn. The values our brand carries are in line with everything I believe in so I feel quite proud to be working here.
I would also like to give more time to myself to explore my creativity through my personal work; sewing, photography and painting. Creating anything and everything I feel. To educate myself by learning a new skill this year, most likely to focus on a language. To be more conscious about my spending so I can save more in all ways possible. And to be able to be in a secure financial position by the end of the year so I can do more to help others.

This year I would love to volunteer to help our wild life here in London, I'm a member of the London wildlife trust and would love to do more. There are so many nature reserves around City which I didn't know about!
Another something for 2021... after breaking my elbow in November I haven't been back on my bike yet. I not quite ready yet but when I am I'm going to push myself to ride to work again.
We would love to hear from you about your intentions for 2021, let us know below or send them here is you would prefer to share them privately. We love hearing from you!
