Round Up of 2021

Round Up of 2021

2021 has been a year like no other. The year end always instills a sense of excitement in me. I always have a list of all the things I want to get started on in the next year for Wild Fawn and the thought of each project makes it feel like I have butterflies in my belly.  However, I don't want to fall into the trap of only thinking about the possibilities of next year when it’s so important to take a step back and reflect on all the amazing things the Wild Fawn team have achieved in the last 12 months.

Donations

This year we donated the most we’ve ever donated. Through our fundraising for charities’ Endometriosis.org & Women for Women International Charity (causes close to members of our team’s hearts)  we’ve raised a total of £1447.28 and plan to double that donation in the next 12 months.

Our Team

Our team has grown in so many ways, but when it comes to numbers, in the last 12 months we’ve welcomed 3 new amazing members! Myself, Rebecca (Product Manager) and Rachel (Silversmith) have been joined by Sofia (Operations Manager), Molly (Social Media and Marketing Coordinator) who launched the Wild Fawn TikTok where 3 of our making videos have gone viral (2 have almost 2 million views, still can’t get my head around it!), and Jenn, our newest member who packs all of your orders. I plan to add more positions to the team next year which is very exciting.

Brexit

Brexit, Brexit, Brexit. The absolute bane of my life. Brexit has been one of the toughest challenges I’ve faced since the beginning of Wild Fawn. As a business whose European exports are a high proportion of turnover, it’s so important for me to keep all of our European customers (and there are A LOT) as happy as possible. I’m so proud to say that as a small business, we’re managing to do what even the bigger jewellery brands have failed to do and that’s to keep the majority of our EU orders being received with no additional duties or VAT charged to the customer. It’s taken a lot of work and still takes a huge proportion of my time to keep this running smoothly but it’s completely worth it. If you run a small business and want to chat about how to make it possible, get in touch!

Our workshop

At the beginning of the year we took the leap to move into a bigger studio. It’s completely changed how we work and has made everything much more efficient.  We now have a relaxation zone (most important IMO), computer zone, making zone and packing zone. If you follow us in Instagram you can probably picture the room, but it was a huge achievement and we love the new space.

Our Best Sellers

We always find it interesting to take a look back at the last 12 months and see what our bestsellers are. As ever, our delicate helix hoops are at the very top of the list. Our Silver Mix & Match Stud Set [1] (a design that’s been there from the very start), 9ct Gold Wanderlust Compass Pendant Necklace and Sunshine Pendant Necklace are all in the top 10.

2021 has been an amazing year, thank you so much for coming on the journey with us. Here’s to an amazing 2021 and to an even bigger and better 2022, I’m already excited.
